Terms of Service
Straightforward information about using Beat It, Apple purchases, subscriptions and your rights.
Last updated: September 7, 2026
1. The service and your agreement
Beat It is an iOS workout-logging and training-progress service provided by David van den Pol. These Terms describe use of the service, purchases and support. Contact david@webwrk.nl with questions.
By using the service, you agree to these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you are not legally able to enter an agreement yourself, any authorization required from a parent or legal guardian must be obtained. Do not use another person’s account without permission.
2. Apple’s standard EULA remains the app license
Your license to use the App Store application is governed by the Apple Standard End User License Agreement (EULA). These service terms do not replace it with a custom EULA. The standard EULA governs licensing, usage restrictions and the relevant Apple-specific provisions; these Terms must not be read to reduce rights it gives you.
Beat It is provided by David van den Pol, not Apple. Questions about the app and its service should be sent to us. Apple handles App Store distribution and billing through its own applicable terms and processes.
3. Accounts and responsible use
- Use Sign in with Apple or Google and keep access to that provider account secure. We do not ask you to send us provider passwords or verification codes.
- Provide information that you are entitled to use. Avoid including unnecessary sensitive information in custom exercise names or support messages.
- Do not attempt to access another user’s records, bypass security controls, disrupt the service, use it unlawfully or infringe another person’s rights.
- You remain responsible for the training information you enter and for choosing whether a suggestion is appropriate for you.
The Privacy Policy explains personal-data processing and your choices. Accepting these Terms does not automatically opt you into optional analytics or provide explicit consent for sensitive health-data processing.
4. Fitness information is not medical advice
Training involves risk. The app cannot assess your technique, surroundings, medical history or readiness to lift. Use suitable equipment and loads. Stop if you experience pain, faintness or other concerning symptoms. Consult a qualified healthcare professional when appropriate. Do not use the app instead of medical advice or to manage an emergency.
No disclaimer in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights.
5. Free access, Pro and App Store purchases
Beat It includes a free logger and optional paid features. You can create an account and choose the free option without starting a subscription. Before you purchase, the app and Apple confirmation show the product being offered, its price and currency, duration or billing period, and any applicable trial or introductory terms. Do not confirm a purchase unless these terms are clear to you.
- Apple billing. Payment is handled through your Apple Account using App Store in-app purchase. We do not ask you to pay for digital app features through this website.
- Recurring subscriptions. An auto-renewable subscription continues for the billing period displayed at purchase and renews automatically unless you cancel it. Apple charges your account under the terms shown during purchase.
- Trials and introductory offers. Availability and eligibility are determined by the actual App Store offer. A free trial can convert into a paid subscription at its stated end. To avoid paying after a free or discounted trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. A reminder, if offered, is optional and is not a substitute for managing your subscription.
- One-time offers. If the app offers a one-time product, its checkout identifies it as such. A one-time purchase is not an auto-renewing subscription. Do not assume an offer is a one-time purchase unless the displayed terms say so.
- Prices and changes. Availability, currency, tax treatment and prices can vary by storefront and offer. Any subscription price change is handled under Apple’s applicable notice and consent rules. This website does not guarantee a particular price, discount or trial duration.
An offer described as “lifetime”, if available, is a one-time purchase of the access described in that offer. It is not a promise that the app, a server service or any future feature will exist indefinitely, and it does not reduce statutory remedies if paid access is not supplied as required.
6. Cancel, restore or request a refund
- Cancel or manage. Open Apple’s subscription management or iPhone Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions → Beat It. Follow the terms and effective cancellation date Apple displays. If cancelled, access normally continues to the end of the paid period; free trials can behave differently.
- Restore access. In Beat It, open Settings → Restore purchases while using the Apple Account that made the purchase. Restoration is subject to the relevant product and Apple purchase records. Contact us if you cannot regain access.
- Refund requests. Submit purchase-related refund requests through reportaproblem.apple.com. Eligibility is assessed under Apple’s process and applicable law. We do not promise a refund outcome or waive any mandatory refund rights.
7. Your data and service availability
You retain the rights you have in information you supply. We process it to provide the service as described in the Privacy Policy. You can request access to your personal data or its deletion without buying Pro. The current release provides data-copy requests through support rather than an in-app full export tool.
The service can be affected by maintenance, network availability, device compatibility or third-party outages. We do not promise uninterrupted operation or a particular training result. We will handle material service changes and any withdrawal of paid features consistently with applicable law and the terms of the purchase. These Terms do not permit us to remove paid rights arbitrarily.
The app’s code, branding and design are protected by intellectual-property law. Your permitted use and any restrictions are governed by the standard EULA and applicable law, including any exceptions that law requires.
8. Ending your account
You can initiate account deletion in Settings → Account and data → Delete account. You may need to reauthenticate to confirm ownership. This deletes the active Beat It account and associated data through the app’s deletion process; external processing and any retention exceptions are explained in the deletion instructions and Privacy Policy.
Deleting your account does not cancel Apple billing or erase copies you have independently shared. If you later create an account, previously deleted workout history is not restored by restoring an App Store purchase.
9. Consumer rights, updates and contact
Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory rights or remedies under applicable consumer, privacy or other law. These Terms do not exclude liability where exclusion is prohibited. Apple’s standard EULA continues to govern the app license, including its applicable dispute and legal provisions.
We may update these service terms to reflect lawful service or legal changes. The revision date is shown at the top. Material changes require appropriate notice, and any consent or cancellation rights required by law remain in place. A new website date alone does not silently override an existing purchase agreement.
